Elmer's Big Parade celebrated Blackpool’s history, its tourism heart, its culture and the many areas of natural beauty reminding us why we simply love where we live. Elmer and his friends brought a ton of fun and laughter to the area, giving our incredible community the chance to come together and celebrate everything that makes their hometown so wonderfully unique.

The sculpture

"Creative Fusion" bursts with vibrant energy. Its surface is a dynamic interplay of orange, yellow, blue, and red, each shade vying for attention yet somehow achieving a cohesive balance. Gold glitter adds a touch of whimsy, while splatters of paint further animate the form, suggesting a spontaneous and expressive creation process.

The intricate mandala patterns etched onto the sculpture offer a moment of visual serenity amidst the bold colours. These designs, often associated with focus and meditation, draw the viewer's eye inward, inviting contemplation on the underlying message of unity.

Ultimately, "Creative Fusion" serves as a symbol of our interconnected world, a reminder that inspiration is everywhere if we choose to see it. The diverse colours and textures represent the rich tapestry of cultures that make up humanity, while the mandala patterns evoke a sense of inner peace and connection. In its vibrant chaos, the sculpture encourages us to embrace our differences and celebrate the boundless creativity that lies within us all.

"Elmer was the obvious choice for an art trail in Blackpool because of its message of inclusivity, friendship and acceptance."

- Linzi Warburton, head of fundraising at Brian House

The public's reaction

"Bringing 'Creative Fusion' to life at one of Brians House Hospice's shops was great! Not only did I get to meet other artists and sponsors but i also got to hear from the volunteers who were keen to see the progress.

The vibrant colours and intricate patterns of world cultures is a theme I've always been passionate about exploring. It was a pleasure to contribute to this public art trail, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to share this message of unity and boundless creativity.

The sculpture's location was fantastic, allowing it to connect with many locals and tourists. Overall Creative Fusion had a brilliant reaction on the trial and on social media with many photo's share. Here are some of my favourites.

Partnering with my sculpture sponsor

The sculpture is sponsored by Shared Services Connected Limited's Blackpool office who were very proactive and supportive throughout the project. They showed a genuine interest in the sculpture's development and were active volunteers and supporters during the trail. A special shoutout to Africa Sprigg, Ruth Duffy and Angela Davies.

"SSCL absolutely loved getting involved in Elmers Big Parade, doing something active, inclusive and very rewarding to support a great local charity – Brian House. Right from the very first potential sponsors event we were hooked. Our company, SSCL sponsored our elephant of choice – Creative Fusion as well as the overall Volunteering program. We were able to watch our elephant come to life, with MrASingh involving us in its journey. Many of our staff from the office took part in the volunteering activities and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. At the final auction, we successfully bid for our elephant which now has a forever home in SSCL."

-Ruth Duffy, Head of Engagement, Blackpool

The Auction

The original sculpture sponsors, Shared Services Connected Limited were the winning bidders of Creative Fusion which is fantastic!
