'Diversity is Us' Giraffe Sculpture - Worcester Stands Tall

Updated: Jun 14, 2023

Location: Fort Royal Park, Worcestershire 2018.

Winding through the streets and public spaces of Worcester, this beautifully decorated art trail of giraffe sculptures was on display from July 9th to September 16th 2018. Each giraffe was auctioned off to raise money for St Richard's Hospice.

The process

The biggest public art event ever seen in Worcester took to the city by storm, as gentle, giant giraffes stood tall in our midst. Huge giraffe sculptures majestically towered over residents and visitors for ten weeks.

The event’s auction raised money for the St. Richard’s Hospice Build 2020 Appeal, which aimed to raise the final £1.4 million needed to build a bigger hospice, enabling more patients and families to be cared for in Worcestershire.

The reaction from the public

#DiversityIsUs was super popular on the trail with so many photographs taken from the public and shared across social media. As my first trail in Worcester, the local community were awesome.
